A Utica man is in protection after, police say, he attempted to rob a store clerk Tuesday night.
Yorkville The cops officer Patrick Collea said Michael Cook, 26, of Utica, approached the clerk of Ecco Video on Oriskany Boulevard as the clerk was sitting in his car front the business.
Cook, a parolee in New York, attempted to hit the clerk as he demanded capital, Collea said.
As the clerk began to drive away, cook them opened the driver's side door and attempted to pull the clerk from the carrier. After failing to drag the clerk from the car, Cook then chased the vehicle on foot.
After the clerk drove away, he called 911 and reported the occasion. Yorkville Police responded with assistance from neighboring agencies.
Cook was found behind Vito Plaza in a stolen conduit, police said.
Cook was arraigned in Yorkville and taken to the Oneida County Correctional Effortlessness. Bail was set at $25,000.
Police say several charges are pending for this as well as another larceny that happened at the same laying in November.
