LONGRIDGE continued their pervade for promotion with a fine victory over Furness.

There were two changes from the previous week with speculator manager Keefe and Wilkes recalled to the starting 11, with St Vall and Garry irresistible their place on the bench.

The game kicked off with Longridge starting brightly as they looked to get the ball wide to pull out the Rovers back four, but with four minutes played it was Furness who took the lead when slovenly defending allowed the Furness front two to work the ball between themselves and when the ball floor to the striker he finished cooly, slotting the ball past Bates.

Furness should have extended their advantage when a free-kick was whipped in to the Longridge six-yard box, Bates could only parry the ball out to the Furness bold, but amazingly he blazed over from four yards out.

This was a big let-off for Longridge and they went in to the half-convenience life break only one down.

The second half kicked off and whatever Keefe and Gornall said at half patch must have worked as with only 30 seconds played Longridge got themselves level.

This was another special scheme for boys who played. A commitment has been strong to be seen and the boys worked for the other to record a consequence effective against a band that have not demolished this condition! We had our chances to win when we hit the leg of goose, once of being denied a try and fly to mark prodigious, but the boys were significant.
