NYC, NY, Unanimous States (AHN) – Trish Summerville, costume designer of the cover based on Stieg Larsson’s best selling inscrutability series, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” has collaborated with Sweden’s H&M to develop a 30-piece clothing collection inspired by Lisbeth Salander, the computer hacking investigator anti-heroine.
H&M, a chain owned by Henne & Mautitz AB of Sweden, said the clothes will become visible in 100 stores internationally and online Dec. 14.
Sony Pictures will pass out the film on Dec. 21.
The collection features lots of black, worn leather jackets, sweatshirts and leather motorcycle pants, all staples of Lizbeth’s clothes-cupboard.
Adding to the hype is a two-day pop-up/cyber cafe in New York featuring four Sony Vaio laptops that can be “hacked.” The conception is to let the “hackers” place their own picture atop a mannequin that has an iPad for a foremost.
Since their mid 2000-publication, the books, also known as The Millennium Trilogy, have made the lately Larsson one of the most successful novelists in the world. The films are expected to be blockbusters.
