The coming weekend is one of those, with the Tulsa Audubon High society's Bald Eagle Days on Saturday and Sunday, the Oklahoma Fly Fishers annual Fly Tying Spectacle on Saturday and 4-H launching its 2012 youth shooting program on Saturday.
The weighty thing about programs like this that they are organized by volunteers, so what they may sometimes lack in brighten and slick venues they more than make up for with dedication and heart.
Consider the 4-H shooting sports program. It teaches archery and air ransack shooting and prepares youth ages 9 through 19 for statewide championship - and prepares them for additional shooting sports if they so desire. Kids who participate essential to join 4-H, which costs a whopping $1.
"We're excited about the program because it can bring in and draw in kids from many different interests and learn not just shooting but safe keeping, leadership and citizenship," said active parent volunteer Theresa Roman.
